Located in the charming town of Oberwesel, Konditorei-Cafe Bonsch is a delightful escape for anyone craving a taste of traditional German desserts. Nestled at Liebfrauenstraße 45, this lovely café perfectly captures the essence of a classic konditorei, serving the finest selections of cakes and pastries that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

The moment you step inside, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by the fragrant aroma of freshly baked goods. The café is adorned with rustic decor that reflects its rich heritage, making it the perfect spot for a cozy afternoon tea or a quick coffee break after exploring the picturesque surroundings of Oberwesel.

Guests rave about the delightful cherry torte, which is said to be absolutely delicious. Elaine Edwards describes it as a “must-try,” and her recommendation is echoed by many who have indulged in the café’s offerings. The rich layers of cake, paired with a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, create a symphony of flavors that can transport anyone to a state of bliss after a long walk through the charming streets of this historic town.

For those looking for something truly unique, the café also offers federweißer—a sweet, slightly fermented white wine that pairs beautifully with the classic Zwiebelkuchen (onion pie). One visitor, Adrian Nelson, humorously notes that while he may not have seen an old chap stroking his mustache, the spirit of a traditional German konditorei was certainly present in the atmosphere and menu.

Pricing is refreshingly reasonable, too. With two pieces of cake and two coffees available for only €17, Nataliya Yarysh highlights the excellent value and quality of the treats offered at Konditorei-Cafe Bonsch. When the friendly owners and staff serve your order, you’ll feel not just welcomed, but like a cherished guest in their delightful establishment.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor to Oberwesel, make sure to visit Konditorei-Cafe Bonsch. It’s not just a café; it’s a slice of tradition, passion, and joy waiting to be savored. With a selection that champions the best of German pastries and a staff that makes every guest feel at home, this café should be on every foodie’s itinerary.

Typical German Konditorei of old, I didn't see an old chap stroking his mustache but he was definitely there somewhere! Reasonable selection of cake, which was mighty fine! They also had a federweißer (a kind of sweet, not totally fermented white wine) and Zwiebelkuchen both of which I'm informed was excellent.
